SDB bank, as part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, proudly inaugurated a newly established computer laboratory at CP/KOT/Shantha Kumara Dasanayaka Primary School in Katukithula. The project was undertaken with the objective of strengthening digital infrastructure within the school and providing students with greater access to modern learning tools.

The recent DITWA cyclone brought severe floods, landslides, and heavy rainfall, causing significant loss of lives and property across Sri Lanka. In response to this national tragedy, SDB bank and the staff members collectively stepped forward to support affected communities by contributing to the Manusath Derana relief initiative by Derana Media Network.

Keeping to its promise of creating a brighter future for rural families, the Bank provided 10 computers and other infrastructure, to promote computer literacy at an underserved school in the interior of Kandy. The Devahandiya Primary School in Ududumbara, Kandy, has only 65 students, but they now have their own IT laboratory equipped with computers and other facilities to participate in the digital world.
SDB bank organized a New Year celebration and book donation program for the children from low-income families in Kandana area on 29th April at St. Senasthiyan ground - Kandana. As part of the program, we offered Rs. 5,000 worth of stationery gift packs to each participating child thanks to the generous contributions of our staff members.
