To celebrate its 27th anniversary, SDB bank’s Staff Welfare Society led a CSR project to enhance the infrastructure of C/Kumara Uthayam Tamil Vidyalaya in Kirulapone, improving the learning environment for its students. This initiative reflects SDB bank’s deep commitment to community development and education, ensuring that young learners have access to better facilities for their growth. Aligned with the bank’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) priorities, the project underscores SDB bank's dedication to sustainable development and social responsibility. Keeping to its promise of creating a brighter future for rural families, the Bank provided 10 computers and other infrastructure, to promote computer literacy at an underserved school in the interior of Kandy. The Devahandiya Primary School in Ududumbara, Kandy, has only 65 students, but they now have their own IT laboratory equipped with computers and other facilities to participate in the digital world.
SDB bank organized a New Year celebration and book donation program for the children from low-income families in Kandana area on 29th April at St. Senasthiyan ground - Kandana. As part of the program, we offered Rs. 5,000 worth of stationery gift packs to each participating child thanks to the generous contributions of our staff members.
