Position Overview:
This position is responsible for assisting in the creation and maintenance of a robust AML/CFT/CPF framework within the Bank by ensuring that all operations comply with stipulated regulatory requirements and established internal procedures/controls to meet all AML/CFT/CPF regulations and international best practices.
The role involves carrying out daily transaction monitoring through the Bank’s AML systems, scrutinizing transactions, and developing Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) in coordination with branches. It also includes conducting awareness sessions for branch staff on AML/CFT/CPF functions such as Know Your Customer (KYC), sanctions screening, beneficial ownership identification, Politically Exposed Person (PEP) identification, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and suspicious transaction monitoring.
The incumbent candidate is required to liaise with relevant departments to resolve AML-related issues, review and update AML-related policies annually, maintain and communicate updated PEP lists, conduct CDD/EDD and ensure the successful implementation, continuous monitoring, and enhancement of AML systems/procedures of the bank.
Additionally, the role includes performing annual bank wide risk-based ML/TF/PF assessments, conducting compliance testing within defined timelines, leading compliance reviews across branches, assessing/evaluating risk ratings of the branches/departments/customers of the bank and reporting findings to relevant committees. The incumbent candidate is also responsible for ensuring timely follow-up actions related to compliance activities, review findings, and training programs.
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 08 years of experience in banking or Financial sector.
- DABF / UGC recognized/approved degree or full professional qualification in Banking & Finance, Business Management or any other relevant full qualification.
- At least three years of experience in handling AML/CFT related Compliance matters in a Bank or any other Financial Institution in the capacity of Senior Executive or above would be an added advantage.
- Proficient in both oral and written communication in English is essential.
- Good communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and effective team-work abilities are a must.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn existing and emerging compliance regulations and guidelines.
