Manager - Financial Reporting

Position Overview:
This position is responsible for overseeing the statutory reporting requirements of the bank.
In addition, perform a variety of professional level accounting duties involved in preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling financial transactions, statements, records, and reports. This job role maintains the accuracy of ledgers, annual audit, year- end closing accounts and provide highly responsible staff assistance to assigned management staff.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of monthly financial reports.
- Review and ensure the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with SLFRS, accounting standards, CBSL regulations, CSE Listing Rules, SEC requirements, and tax regulations.
- Manage and oversee all direct and indirect tax matters, including income tax, VAT, SSCL, withholding tax, and other statutory tax obligations.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of tax computations, tax returns, and regulatory filings.
- Liaise with tax authorities and manage tax audits, assessments, queries, and compliance matters.
- Review financial reporting disclosures, supporting documentation, and calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate and manage statutory audits, CBSL examinations, and external audit engagements.
- Liaise with Internal Audit and coordinate responses to audit observations, queries, and recommendations.
- Ensure timely resolution and closure of audit findings and regulatory issues.
- Maintain effective relationships with regulators, auditors, tax authorities, and other external stakeholders.
- Monitor reporting deadlines and ensure timely submission of all statutory, regulatory, and tax-related reports.
- Provide technical guidance on accounting standards, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and taxation matters.
Candidate Profile:
- Associate membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.
- Minimum 05 years of experience in banking or Financial sector.
- Good written and oral communication skills in English and Sinhala.
- Thorough knowledge of tax regulations and the latest accounting pronouncements.
- Knowledge sharing to strengthen team capability and collaboration.
- Interpersonal and organizational skills to foster effective teamwork and efficiency. Problem-solving and relationship building to address challenges and maintain strong professional connections.
- Analytical and critical thinking to support sound financial decision-making.
