Appointment of Deputy General Manager | SDB bank Sri Lanka

We are pleased to announce appointment of Saman Samarakoon as DGM-Operations with effect from 1st of April 2019. Saman will manage Technology, Operations and Admin functions of the Bank in his new role.

Saman counts over 24 years of experience in Banking and IT industries. He started his career at DMS as a Software Engineer and then worked at IBM for more than 13 years prior to joining SDB bank in 2011.

Saman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering from University of Moratuwa and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Colombo. He is also a Chartered Engineer in the field of Computer Engineering. He is an active member of Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka and served as a Council member for 3 years and also held the position of Chairman of Computer Engineering Sectional Committee of IESL from 2012 to 2015.

We believe his expertise and knowledge will help making a substantial contribution to Bank’s strategic goals in the coming years and please join me wishing him all the very best in his new role.
