Job overview :

The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the branch, which primarily includes retail banking activities. He/she will lead the branch towards achieving assigned business targets while maintaining strong relationships with customers and other key stakeholders in the catchment area. The Branch Manager will drive the execution of the sales strategy and customer acquisition process within the branch. Additionally, he/she will be responsible for meeting or exceeding portfolio growth targets. Furthermore, the Branch Manager will take the initiative in executing administrative tasks for the branch.

Profile of the Ideal Candidate

  • A degree or equivalent professional qualification in business management/ Finance Management or relevant field from a recognized university or professional body.
  • Diploma in Banking & Finance or Diploma in Applied Banking & Finance (DABF) from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience in the Banking/ Finance sector.
  • Sound knowledge of the demographics in the respective areas and possession of good rapport with various business communities, government & private institutions, and social organizations.
  • Proven track record in sales management within a multiproduct environment.
  • Excellent linguistic proficiency in Sinhala, English, and Tamil, relevant to the geographical area of the branch.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good business planning, analytical skills and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership skills & ability to influence.
  • Team building and motivational skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • IT Literacy.
