Position Overview.
This role is responsible for supporting tax-related activities of the bank, ensuring compliance with applicable tax regulations. Key responsibilities include assisting in the preparation and filing of tax returns, making timely tax payments, managing WHT certificates, supporting tax audits, reconciling GL accounts, and coordinating with branches. This role also contributes to audit preparation and special departmental projects as assigned.
Candidate Profile
- Currently following or completed a degree, or an equivalent professional qualification, in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce from a recognized university or professional body.
- Qualified in G.C.E. (A/L) with 3 simple passes for main subjects and credit passes for English & Mathematics in G.C.E. (O/L).
- Full or part qualification in IABF (old syllabus) or DBF (new syllabus) from IBSL, or a minimum one-year diploma in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of one year’s work experience in the banking or financial sector, with exposure to taxation.
- Sound knowledge of tax regulations and current accounting standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of VBA/macros for process automation.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Good IT literacy.
